South Asian Expressions

Amplifying Voices, Bridging Cultures in Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Mission

Too often, South Asian children and families encounter speech-language services that don't account for their linguistic and cultural context. Assessment tools standardized on monolingual English speakers. Therapy materials that don't reflect their cultural experiences. Professionals who may not understand the phonological and grammatical structures of Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, or other South Asian languages.
